This is an established trauma treatment extensively used worldwide.
A Polish university, Lodz university, researched the method of psychological treatment with VR glasses over the last few years. Since the outbreak of the war, the use of VR goggles has been tried on refugees and proven to help them relax, complementary to trauma sessions. After 6 half-an-hour sessions, those affected reported feeling “relieved” after having been transported to a virtual world and gain relaxation techniques to help reduce the stress levels on them.
Thanks to free donation of the app from Lodz University, we could see this modern technology being implemented in Ireland to help those affected by trauma.
